Earthquakes have been documented as to producing electrical charges. Has to do with the ground moving, hitting together in some places, possibly igniting gas seepage areas, or getting hit from lightning.

True, but a large column of bluish 'lightning' appearing to come from a flying object in the sky preceded the Morocco earthquake:
