With God, He wants us to create a better world through our free will. However, Satan’s way of doing it is through law, by mandating goodness through the use of force. That’s one of the issues being settled on this planet as we speak. Is it better to allow people to do good as they will or do they need laws to force them to do acts of good to get that utopian world?

This echos with me strongly today.
I have been meditating on the tendancy of humans to want rules to live by. I think this is why Islam is popular. Menawhile, God says you people cannot keep the rules (the law is the teacher of that). That is why we need Jesus’ sacrifice, of course.
Even the Jews added in a bunch of ‘traditions’ to fine tune the 10 commandments. What is labor on the Sabbath? So many steps is OK, more is violation.
Now, I have kind of said that Satan and the Jews work the same way. Well, I said it. Let’s see.
Which, to me, makes me wonder if the proper interpretation of wanting to be like the Most High isn’t something more than just wanting worship.
Maybe Satan got caught up on the idea that he could do more good through force than through free will. All the political philosophies on the left involve the use of force to try and create a good society.
Maybe that’s also one of the things that Christ tried to correct about the Jews, because they in Christ’s time made trying to be obedient to God a burden.
