(Video) - Russia's Invasion of UKRAINE has caused Major Problems for the Russian Economy as Trade with Europe & the West has collapsed and Changes to the Global Supply Chain caused by the SANCTIONS have caused further problems. The value of the Russian Ruble has COLLAPSED over the past 12 months. On 14th August the value of the Ruble fell to more than 100 against the US Dollar for the FIRST TIME IN HISTORY. As a direct result the Russian Central Bank called an Emergency Meeting and Hiked Interest Rates by 350bps to 12.0%. The immediate result was an increase in the value of the Ruble however over the past 2 weeks the value has started falling again and is now heading back towards 100 to $1. In this video I discuss this issue in more detail and the implications for the Russia Economy & its population.

Does Russia need 21st century technology to survive? It can’t go back to the fifties, in terms of its development and do ok?

Don’t misunderstand me. As intelligent as the Russia people are, the paradigm they operate under would keep them from being representatives of planet Earth to the Vulcans, but can they take care of themselves without 21st century technological developments?

I do believe that Russia can go it alone

That's a belief not based on facts. I believe that space aliens are among us, and they will be taking over the planet in less than 20 years.

But, Russia is very dependent on imported electronics, especially for their planes and tanks and many other war machinery. And they don't have the manufacturing capabilities and capacity to keep their war machines (planes, tanks, etc) going for too long And, they've had to keep their fighter planes and bombers and helicopters out out of the war, for fear of losing them all and not being able to replace them. Sure, they've sent many into the fight, but they can't keep it up.

Think again. Russia made a huge mistake, thinking they'd take Ukraine in a few weeks with no major damage to their war-fighting capabilities. Putin was very wrong, and so are you.

Russia together with BRICS+ is going to be just fine. They embody E Pluribus Unam far more than the corrupt, tribalized indebted hellscape America has become. Unlike us, Russia is not losing influence and allies everywhere in the world-in fact they’re feted in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. So I would stop burning through billions propping up overseas Nazis, stop the color revolutions and get honest with the dire domestic situation. Try to arrest the decline at home if it’s not too late.

I’m in agreement that Russia doesn’t have the capability of becoming a high tech nation on its own. At the very least, everything we have would be developed much more crudely in Russsia, but so what?

How was life in the 1950’s in America, when America also lacked 21st century technology. Were Americans suffering from not having it or were Americans fine with its absence?

I think Russia would be fine if it developed 1950’s level standard of living.

They can’t be beaten on their architecture. I love their architecture.

“By the way, how would France and the US do in producing cars without their huge imports of Chinese parts and materials?”

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yes! I agree with you on one thing.
The West is indeed importing a lot from China because they can produce en mass for rather cheap.

However... What China produces is mostly only copies of western know-how and creativity. Anything China produces we do it as well and better. But it’s more expensive when we do it, because we pay our workers and engineers.

When it comes to Taiwan, they are actually dependent on EU (Holland) for their semiconductors production lines. Holland is the world’s number one in innovation and the very latest in ultra high-tech electronics. Russia has zero of it. And China, despite their international stealing efforts of others inventions... is far away from the truly best high-tech equipment the West is producing. That’s why they want to take Taiwan.

The new commie war will come from China. And I think they will not ask the backing of their ally Russia in order to that... because China want the whole taiwan-cake for themselves.

It’s more than architecture, you have zero chance of being shot, robbed, sucker punched or thrown on the tracks by some meth head or schizophrenic on their beautiful and high tech Metro.

Go watch YouTube videos of price checks in a Russian supermarket. The shelves are full and the prices are a fraction of what we pay for our groceries. The most recent one I watched was by YouTuber “Lisa With Love”.

China wants a big slice of Siberia for themselves, as well.

Having Russia deplete their war stocks in Ukraine, and sell them oil at half the world price, suits China just fine.

Russia's infrastructure absolutely sucks.

They have very few roads, and their first class train tracks are very limited.

Sure, Moscow has good infrastructure. Go 100 miles outside of Moscow, and it drops back to 1920s level.

Perhaps. Go a few miles outside of Moscow, and crime is rampant, drunkenness is a serious problem.

It is a serious problem in much of the West, as the radical leftist have worked very hard to destroy Western society from within.

You realize that Taiwan is a province of China and the US explicitly recognizes that fact? How do neocons expect the leader of China to react to Nancy Pelosi flying into that province unannounced while shipping billions in weapons and pledging full throated support for war? Probably about the same as Washington would react to the Chinese leadership if they flew into Texas under military escort and armed the state government to the teeth to “defend itself” against the Washington.

This is old news. The ruble has been stable since interest rates were raised to 12%.

Russia beats America on infrastructure in and out of Moscow. America has Acela, the single “high speed” rail that tops out at 145 mph for a few miles during its 89 mile route. Russia, by contrast, has the far more sophisticated Sapsan bullet train on the 440 mile Moscow-St. Petersburg route that tops out at 217 mph.

It’s really time for neocons to download a perceptual system upgrade and stop the RaRa over how much better things are here when theyre actually not. Begin with the fact that the USSR died 32 years ago and was replaced by this modern thing called the Russian Federation .

Yes, I have seen some of those videos.
However, its often stated in those videos that the average Russian’s purchasing power is low. The “low” prices you see in Russia’s supermarkets... many Russians simply can’t afford.

The average salary (for the lucky ones living in Moscow) is about 4-5 times lower than the average salary in America.

Those who live on the countryside have even lower salaries.

Thus, what you see in those Russian supermarkets are truly high prices for many Russians.

Look again!
It’s on the verge of 1 to 100 again against the dollar, despite the high interest rates.

I looked. The ruble touched 130 to the dollar when the war started, and now looks stable to me. And the head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, is one of the best central bankers in Europe. She tried to quit when the war started, but Putin wouldn’t let her.

If you forced me to buy or sell rubles right now I would buy. But since I hate the serial murderer Putin with a passion, I certainly won’t.
