Paxton Impeachment Trial – Texas Attorney Tony Buzbee Cuts Right to the Heart of it, The Bush Family
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | September 7, 2023 | Sundance

Posted on 09/07/2023 5:49:37 AM PDT by Texas Fossil

As the second day of the impeachment trial of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton took place, his lawyer Tony Buzbee brought immediate sunlight onto the motives of those who want Paxton removed.

Ken Paxton defeated George P Bush in the primary race.  The Bush clan and professional republicans in the Texas political circle were not happy.

Jeff Mateer was the Asst. AG when Paxton took office; Mateer is part of the professional republican apparatus who did not like Paxton, and Mator became a whistleblower against his boss.  In this soundbite Tony Buzbee puts the timeline of activity in front of Mateer, including the date that George P Bush reactivated his law license.  WATCH:

Why do you keep posting parts of the charges with no comments? What is your opinion on the charges. We can read the article for ourselves. Seems a bit trollish……….

“Why do you keep posting parts of the charges with no comments?”

So people here can know the situation better.

“What is your opinion on the charges.”

Many seem to be a stretch. The ones I posted might hold up.

“We can read the article for ourselves.”

Oceans of mud are being thrown at our top fighters like Trump and Paxton. It is quite hard to see what might be rocks. Many people reading on freerepublic simply don’t have time to wade through oceans of mud.

Pretty hard to decipher that from you just posting excerpts with no comments. Comments are helpful. Have a great day.

>> I actually like George W, but after leaving office a lot of things popped up that have reduced my opinion of W. He is on the Globalist side, like his father (George HW Bush, who headed the CIA before being VP And President)

He and Laura (and mom Barbara too) also came out foursquare on the side of the wokies and their perverse social agenda. I *used* to be a W backer, but lost my respect for him for all those reasons, plus his “Welcome Amigos” attitude towards illegal immigration.

>> They could continue their politics up there, after all, Susan Collins can’t live forever.

If the Bushes would self-deport to Maine and work on rebuilding their dynasty there, I’d be ecstatic! I’ll bet Florida would contribute Jeb! to their cause as well. And we can send a few busloads of wetbacks up their way so they’ll feel right at home.

>> I don’t think Phelan will be so empowered very long.

If I remember correctly, Phelan is not currently polling well in his own congressional district. We may not have to endure that POS for another term.

But the RINO problems in the Texas house are pretty deep; Dade Phelan’s ascent to speaker is a symptom, not the cause. Here is a good article from Powerline Blog that speaks to the systemic issues there:

“The House Speaker and the Lieutenant Governor (who presides over the Senate) have essentially absolute control over what bills will come to the floor for second and third readings. There is no “discharge petition” practice, whereby members can force a vote on a particular bill. As a result, if the Speaker or Lieutenant Governor do not want a particular bill passed, they can simply never let it come up for a vote.”

“a Speaker does not get elected by obtaining the support of a majority of his party’s caucus. Instead, he cuts deals with individual members (e.g., sign your pledge card for me and I’ll put you on this committee; get your faction to sign their pledge cards for me and I’ll make you chair of this committee).”

“Following the ‘pledge card’ practice means that a relatively small number of often nominal Republicans can elect a speaker by allying with the Democrat minority, which understandably would prefer to have a Speaker who is not a GOP stalwart . . . especially if that Speaker also gives Democrat members control of certain committees as a sweetener.”

From the linked article, which goes on to described how anti-DEI legislation was rendered worthless.

Even Jesse "High" Jackson knew to "Stay out the Bushes".

Thanks for the link. It is correct, there is a long history of shared power via strong Speaker.

But that was back before the Communist totally controlled the Dem Party.

The last of the fiscal conservative Southern Dems, died or changed parties in the 1970’s. The Dems are all Communists.

This is not a simple case. And from the very beginning it was back smoke filled room stuff. No effort of being within the law in the initial proceedings.

Few people are aware of that.

That brought a response.
