BA.2.86 may be more capable of causing infection in people who have previously had COVID-19 or who have received COVID-19 vaccines.
That line's been quoted a lot, but its incredibly awkward and is (deliberately?) unclear. It claims that this current version is more capable of causing infection, but more capable than what? The previous Omicron lineages? Delta? The Original Wuhan strain? Measles? The common cold? Why in the world would the basis of comparison be so occluded?
Really makes no sense.
