It is a wonderful feeling not to owe anybody anything and it makes it more practical to help somebody else out without cutting one’s own financial wrist. I used to never have money in my pocket. Then I stopped smoking, joined a church to which I give 10% of every bit of money that comes to me. Since then somehow I always have money in my pocket and, even better, money in the bank. My favorite loser has a $70k truck and a 12.50 per hour job. He is always “a little short.”
Even my auto insurance and home insurance, I pay in lump sums

Same here, I pay those yearly and done with it for another year. I started doing it that way about 30 years ago when I first found out the insurance company tacked on a monthly fee to accept monthly or quarterly premiums.

Sounds like one of those folks who jump at a chance to take one of those 96 month new vehicle loans.
