GOP Senators are weighing a ‘special’ meeting on their leadership after McConnell’s latest freezing incident.
81-year-old Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is “medically clear” to continue work after he froze up for the second time within the last month on Wednesday.
And this is just what we have seen in public. Certainly, McConnell is having these episodes in private as well.
McConnell was holding a press conference in Covington, Kentucky on Wednesday when he went into a catatonic state.
Mitch McConnell temporarily froze and was unable to speak. An aide came to his rescue and promptly ended the press conference.
Late last month McConnell became unresponsive and stared blankly during a Senate press conference.
As TGP’s Kristinn Taylor reported, McConnell suffered a concussion and a broken bone after a fall in March. He was hospitalized and did a stint in rehab before returning to the Senate in mid-April.

He can do what he does with or with out having a stroke
Whatever.
You can probably count on it. Another “go along & get along”, “reach across the isle”, “team player”. The Swamps team. Not ours.
63.200 (1)(b) The appointee shall be selected from a list of three (3) names submitted by the state executive committee of the same political party as the Senator who held the vacant seat to be filled, shall have been continuously registered as a member of that political party since December 31 of the preceding year, and shall be named within twenty-one (21) days from the date of the list submission. I wonder what chance Robby Mills has at beating Beshear. It's crazy that KY is so very read and have a Dem governor & lt governor. It's as backwards as GA being so red in state government and having two Dem US Senators.
Plausibly, McConnell’s glitch was caused in part by an emotional reaction and lack of a ready and fluent answer to the question he had been asked over running for reelection. McConnell has almost certainly decided not to run for reelection but does not want to say so in order to avoid being a lame duck and touching off political maneuvering to run for his seat.
That’s interesting thank you for sharing that.
At the urging of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in 2021, the Kentucky General Assembly changed a law that determined how the state would fill any potential U.S. Senate vacancies, shifting appointment power from the governor to the party of the senator leaving office.
You can bet that will go to court before this happens.
I don’t believe those sort of outcomes were honest elections. Saw it happen in other states where there was no way a dem could win but magically that’s what SOS certified and was accepted by media and citizens not doing more to ensure it was accurate.
That might be called "a clue" if the media was interested.
It is all vote fraud.
I had one of those catatonic freezes the day before my stroke. Would not be surprised if he strokes out in the near future.
Thune is MUSHY with one foot out the door (almost retired in 2021) & likely anti-Trump.
Cornyn would probably be better. Barrasso only has a shot if votes are split between Thune & Cornyn.
So who are the members of the state executive committee in KY?
Trump staying pretty quite on McConnell’s condition....so far....unless I missed it
Cornhole needs to go !
His doctors probably know exactly what is wrong with him and are hiding it.
Thune! Thune! Thune! I can hear the chants starting already.
Oh God, Thune was never the conservative some Freepers thought early on.
Amen. From your lips to Gods ear!
