Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine
ORYX ^ | Since February 24, 2022 and daily | ORYX

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

U.S. Takes Bold Step To Break Free From Russian Uranium Hold
By Alex Kimani - Aug 25, 2023, (https://oilprice.com/Alternative-Energy/Nuclear-Power/US-Takes-Bold-Step-To-Break-Free-From-Russian-Uranium-Hold.html )

-The U.S. has been dependent on Russian uranium, importing significant amounts despite geopolitical tensions. (”For a long time, the U.S. has been heavily reliant on Russian uranium, and imported about 14 percent of its uranium and 28 percent of all enrichment services from Russia in 2021 while the figures for the European Union were 20 percent and 26 percent for imports and enrichment services, respectively.”)

-Urenco’s plant in New Mexico is expanding, aiming to replace the U.S.’s reliance on Russian uranium by 2027.

-The Biden administration and key industry players are exploring thorium as a more efficient and safer alternative to uranium for nuclear power.

“Thorium is now being billed as the ‘great green hope’ of clean energy production that produces less waste and more energy than uranium, is meltdown-proof, has no weapons-grade by-products and can even consume legacy plutonium stockpiles.

The United States Department of Energy (DOE), Nuclear Engineering & Science Center at Texas A&M and the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) have partnered with Chicago-based Clean Core Thorium Energy (CCTE) to develop a new thorium-based nuclear fuel they have dubbed ANEEL. ANEEL (Advanced Nuclear Energy for Enriched Life) is a proprietary combination of thorium and “High Assay Low Enriched Uranium” (HALEU) that intends to address high costs and toxic waste issues (thorium must be paired with at least a small amount of a fissile material due its inability to naturally fissile on its own)...

...The thorium-based fuel also comes with other key benefits. One of the biggest is that a much higher fuel burn-up reduces plutonium waste by more than 80%. (This allows the fuel to remain in the reactors for much longer, meaning much longer intervals between shut downs for refueling.)... Further, thorium has a lower operating temperature and a higher melting point than natural uranium, making it inherently safer and more resistant to core meltdowns...

...Yet another benefit: There is more than twice thorium in the earth’s crust than uranium... Thorium can also be extracted from sea water just like uranium, making it almost inexhaustible.”

“Russian General Gennady Zhidko, 58, this week, was found dead after struggling with a “lengthy illness”.

Zhidko took over the management of the Russian Army in Ukraine two months after the invasion began in February 2022.

He was replaced in that job by General Sergey Surovikin in October of 2022, who is now, no doubt, also struggling with a “lengthy illness”.

So the average life expectancy in the job is about 8 months, and about that much afterwards.

Bad news, Comrade new guy...

“you validate his administration’s foreign policy”

It is a logical fallacy (syllogism) to say that support of Ukraine means support of Biden.

X supports Y
You support Y
Therefor You support X

If Biden salutes the flag, and then you do, does that mean you support Biden?

Do you agree agree with the Biden Administration flying the American flag at the White House?

People can righteous support policies despite Biden, rather than because of him.

Clever. But no.

There is a foreign policy being conducted by the Biden-Blinken-Nuland team regarding the Ukraine/Russia war.

You should read more closely, as you copied my statement verbatim (thank you) -- "you validate his administration's foreign policy.” Not a logical fallacy, in the least.

You weigh in with "righteous support policies." Clear. And if you agree with him, you support his policy (policies). Righteously.

Why don’t you take your logic, etc and go start a pro-Russian, anti-Diapers thread?

You have lots of FRpeers on you page telling you how right you are.

Testy PIF. You and yours cannot fathom any "not my circus, not my clowns" stance, and so the default is that old "you're for us or you're against us."

More than two sides confuses. More than one concern (many interlocking concerns) confuses. A coin might have only two sides, but there are many more forms. Cube? Sphere? Dodecahedron? The entire world?

"Why don't you take your logic, etc" is an interesting slip of the rhetorical tongue. As is calling me "pro-Russian." As is "lots of FRpeers on you [sic] page telling you how right you are."

Maybe you should choose a smaller caliber when shooting yourself in your own foot? :)

Oh we fathom your act OK It just so tedious and anti-American; its painful to think anyone would claim to be an American would parrot Russian talking points like: “not my circus, not my clowns”.

At Twitter there is something called the “Photo Blobstore,” a service Twitter uses to archive millions of images that cross its social platform. The Blobstore was set up to isolate not just 'bad' files, but all image files that accompany tweets. Meanwhile, 'Twimg' stands for 'Twitter imaging' and is used to sequester photos and graphics determined to come from suspicious sources."

All twitter images, even those tweeted by Elon Musk himself, SpaceX, and Donald Trump, are stored at pbs.twimg.com.

Yup. Do you know why the sequestration?

An interesting thread: https://github.com/mozilla/blok/issues/187

It looks like users are having a lot of issues with our block of pbs.twimg.com. One example is that images are missing from drudgereport.com. I have validated this with TP enabled. 63.9% of users with block pings from sites pulling from pbs.twimg.com report breakages. Almost 100% of these breakages are image issues.

My hypothesis is that pbs.twimg.com is used for both tracking images and regular images, so we may need to reevaluate our strategy on this one.

I detected this with the Re:dash dashboards where pbs.twimg.com is an outlier.

Do you know how to search for Photo Blobstore images? Facebook images? We are all data for someone, eh?

Russia bringing in “multiple regiments from the VDV’s 76th Air Assault Division to the south (73rd Center fought in the Robotyne area) from the Kreminna front. The 76th is arguably Russia’s best division and is relatively fresh”.

Ukraine is about 3 miles from the high ground overlooking (and having fire control over) Tokmak and all the routes in and out. RU will certainly commit whatever they can to prevent that.

“Robotyne-Tokmak axis update:

1/ Yesterday, I discussed Russian reinforcements and reserves in the South, but didn’t mention them specifically. Today, it’s safe to say that I was referring to the movement of units from the 76th Guards Air Assault Division from the North-East

2/ I anticipated that it would take a few days for the OSINT community to detect and identify them, hence I waited until today. According to russian military doctrine, at least on paper, 76th division is a part of their strategic reserves, underscoring the seriousness of the move

3/ As of now, refraining from additional statements, it’s crucial to acknowledge the twofold implications. On one hand, this strengthens russian operational capacities. On the other, their failure will critically impair of combat-ready reserves for rapid deployment.

4/ Lastly, I want to highlight that the division is comprised of various units. Therefore, it’s more accurate to refer to “elements and units of the 76th division,”. This is distinct from the complete division with all its constituent units.”

Peak China

“China’s Housing Slump Is Much Worse Than Official Data Shows”

“Judging by China’s official statistics, the nation’s housing market has been remarkably resilient in the face of tepid economic growth and record defaults by developers.

New-home prices have slipped just 2.4% from a high in August 2021, government figures show, while those for existing homes have dropped 6%.

But the picture emerging from property agents and private data providers is far more dire.

These figures show existing-home prices falling at least 15% in prime neighborhoods of major metropolitan areas like Shanghai and Shenzhen, as well as in more than half of China’s tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Existing homes near Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.’s headquarters in Hangzhou have dropped about 25% from late 2021 highs, according to local agents.”
