I appreciate you not having an ax to grind. It seems that we see and hear so much negativity about these presidential candidates, with relatively little about why they might be good candidates for office.

In my opinion, every candidate, including Trump, has pluses and minuses to their candidacies. But the impression I get, is that there is a major focus on everyone’s negatives. I get the impression that there is something wrong with every GOP candidate, and that there is something wrong with every GOP elected official in America.

I wish we could have more discussions where we compare and contrast the candidates, but there is more focus on people’s negatives than their positives. After all, someone is going to be the GOP presidential nominee, probably Trump. And Trump is going to pick someone as his running mate. Odds are some Freepers will detest who Trump picks as his running mate. I wish we could all be more positive about things.

I understand. Politics is a dirty game and the people who want to clean up Dodge are vastly outnumbered by the people who want to find a way into to feed at the trough.
I am frankly underwhelmed by our choices other than Trump who is on a patriotic mission. He is flawed as are we all but what you see is what you get.

I think it may be important to look carefully for negatives because we are stuck for the next 4 years with whom we elect (assuming we are allowed to have an honest election). Evil often wears a pretty face so I do look carefully for false notes.

I am hoping that the strong support for Trump will allow him to pick his own VP, not to be saddled with an acceptable to the RNC choice like Pence. There are many able, honorable, conscientious men & women that Trump undoubtably knows & could pick for VP & cabinet if he has a free hand.
