“Trump’s support for someone in McConnell’s position is just politics in the framework of the American political system, good or bad, . . .”

Yet McConnell and Ryan often spoke against Trump and worked to thwart his agenda, violating the Reagan’s 11th commandment, “Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.”

How many times in the last 3 years have Schumer, Pelosi, and Jeffries publicly and deliberately been highly critical of Biden’s personal behavior or policies? With McConnell during Trump’s presidency, public criticism was frequent as was backstabbing in the shadows.

More evidence the GOP leadership really doesn’t care if they win or lose?

What would have been the downside if Trump had not endorsed McConnell for reelection?

The downside is that McConnell would’ve been elected. Anyway, there is absolutely zero chance anyone else would’ve been elected, and Trump would’ve been handicap from the get go if he had won another term.
