President Trump has confirmed he will not be participating in the Fox News debate scheduled for August 23rd. The insufferable Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier will be moderating the first loser Republican primary discussion where leaked information from Ron DeSantis debate prep has been revealed.

Meanwhile the Never Back Down SuperPAC supporting Ron DeSantis has shared their goals and objectives with the New York Times.
Hundreds of pages of blunt advice, memos and internal polling were posted online by the main super PAC backing the Florida governor, offering an extraordinary glimpse into his operation’s thinking.
Ron DeSantis needs “to take a sledgehammer” to Vivek Ramaswamy, the political newcomer who is rising in the polls. He should “defend Donald Trump” when Chris Christie inevitably attacks the former president. And he needs to “attack Joe Biden and the media” no less than three to five times.
[…] “There are four basic must-dos,” one of the memos urges Mr. DeSantis, whom the document refers to as “GRD.”
[…] “1. Attack Joe Biden and the media 3-5 times. 2. State GRD’s positive vision 2-3 times. 3. Hammer Vivek Ramaswamy in a response. 4. Defend Donald Trump in absentia in response to a Chris Christie attack.”
The documents were posted this week on the website of Axiom Strategies, the company owned by Jeff Roe, the chief strategist of Mr. DeSantis’s super PAC, Never Back Down.
The New York Times was alerted to the existence of the documents by a person not connected to the DeSantis campaign or the super PAC. After The Times reached out to Never Back Down for comment on Thursday, the group removed from the website a key memo summarizing the suggested strategy for the debate. (more)
What happened to the Tucker Carlson Debate round table? That I would like to see. The Old style—Lets get Trump Debates are so—2020. They are only as good as the hype.
It should be clear to everyone on FR, that the vocal “desantis supporters” are just nevertrumpers.
Especially now that desanctimonious is in the single digits in the polls.
Since there isn’t anything they can post to talk about him, they gather in certain threads, to spam attacks on Trump and his supporters, and be sour grapes....
Yet they still push that everyone should vote for who wins the primary.... fully expecting that Trump is taken out of the running, and desanctimonious would win.
Well, that isn’t going to happen.
Why the hell would he? I’d think less of him if he showed up. Better to have a rally at the same time.
“those Lilliputians”
Steve Bannon calls than the Keebler Elves.
“He is a natural born fighter.”
And insulter and bragger. Overall I like him too but his frontier now is pulling in voters that dislike him personally.
Good point.
Trump is basically the incumbent. All the challengers are also-rans. He has no need to show up and let the 12 dwarves, or however many there are, nip at his heels
Trump’s approach will let Fox know that they are not in charge any more, but the debate may help to uncover the views of the others.
Trump is the SEC.
The other candidates are Conference USA.
That is a very pleasant statement coming from The Donald.
Good for him. Now off to visit with Tucker at that same
date and time period? We will see. (shrug)
What I posted isn’t merely “nice”, it is indeed a fact. No one comes to power without God’s permission. Biden has been permitted the office he holds, albeit illegitimately, most likely as this nation’s punishment for falling away from our Heavenly Father.
Yup. It will be a bash-Trump fest with no discussion from any of them as to their policies.
He was asked not to attend? By who? Got a link?
The question I and many people have is why didn’t they just let Trump run and steal the election again? Why make it so public that they are tampering with our elections? I think the answer is that if Trump becomes the nominee he will have a decent chance of winning the election and Washington can’t allow that. The reason for this is that things are likely to get psychotically bad for America before the next election and they know it. The economy, the war in Ukraine, Biden’s crimes, and who knows what else. There is just so much instability and any one of those things could easily get totally out of control giving Trump a huge opening.
He’s not going to change who he is in order to attract that segment of voters. He has a HUGE base of supporters who like him as is. They like the way he fights - insults and all. Changing who he is to attract this group or that group is the sort of thing people like DeSantis do.
If people who don’t like Trump personally get on board and vote for him, it’s going to have to be because they realize that, regardless of their personal dislike of him, he’s the best candidate for the job. At least they’ll know that he’s genuine.
Trump plans to skip GOP debate, considers interview with Tucker Carlson instead: Sources
He can’t participate because he won’t sign the GOP loyalty pledge. I think that was what was meant. Trump is happy enough to use the GOP connections without supporting the GOP candidate if it’s not him.
