Maybe some of the info. he has, is best reserved for the trial?

That's the best advice. If there's any information that will exonerate the defendant, present it at the trial. Disclosing it on TV is a publicity stunt. Why disclose it to the prosecution, before the trial begins?

Umm, you generally can’t introduce any evidence at trial that you haven’t disclosed to the other side before the trial begins.
