Here’s some advice for anyone, including Governor DeSantis, from the legendary Jesse Unruh (D), Speaker of the California State Assembly in the 1960s.
Asked about donors and lobbyists hanging around his members, he said, “If you can’t eat their food, drink their liquor, f*** their women, take their money, and then vote against them when the time comes - you don’t belong up here”.’
DeSantis is a young man, and he has time to toughen up re: donors, but so far, on Ukraine and now the existential Trump issue, he looks like a weakling.
C'mon Jim, that's ridiculous. DeSantis has stepped right in the center ring against a man whose supporters think is a real life Superman, and gone straight after him on his biggest claim of all, that the election was stolen. He knows the Trump clan will attack him in every crude way possible, but he is perfectly maintaining his composure, despite amping up the voltage to maximum capacity.
I'm a supporter of his, but even I am surprised with the boldness he is displaying today. He's sensing a weakness here with Trump, and going for the jugular. He may be wrong, but this is a fearless act, at its core. Just like putting his political career on the line, to take on Trump, at all. All these other candidates are has beens. DeSantis is risking his promising young political career, and therefore showing some real courageousness. You may not like it, but it is courageous if nothing else. Calling it a sign of weakness is pathetic analysis, with all respect. Thanks.
