Megadonor Tells DeSantis to Get Moderate or Else, Within Hours DeSantis Dismisses 2020 “Stolen Election Theories” as False August 4, 2023 | Sundance | 24 Comments These two events are not coincidental.
Ron DeSantis megadonor Robert Bigelow (below right) is already into the failing DeSantis campaign for $20 million.
Billionaire donor Bigelow tells Reuters that he has told the DeSantis managers the candidate needs to take moderate positions, or he will not donate any more money {LINK HERE}. Ron DeSantis is then questioned by reporters in Iowa about the Trump indictment and the claims of the 2020 election being stolen. Immediately DeSantis changes his talking points. “All those theories that were put out did not prove to be true,” Mr. DeSantis said in response to a reporter’s question after a campaign event at a brewery in Northeast Iowa.” {LINK}

I'm supporting DeSantis because he has a solid record of stalwart conservative achievements under his belt, not because I want him to be my friend and drink a beer with me.
C'mon Jim, that's ridiculous. DeSantis has stepped right in the center ring against a man whose supporters think is a real life Superman, and gone straight after him on his biggest claim of all, that the election was stolen. He knows the Trump clan will attack him in every crude way possible, but he is perfectly maintaining his composure, despite amping up the voltage to maximum capacity.
I'm a supporter of his, but even I am surprised with the boldness he is displaying today. He's sensing a weakness here with Trump, and going for the jugular. He may be wrong, but this is a fearless act, at its core. Just like putting his political career on the line, to take on Trump, at all. All these other candidates are has beens. DeSantis is risking his promising young political career, and therefore showing some real courageousness. You may not like it, but it is courageous if nothing else. Calling it a sign of weakness is pathetic analysis, with all respect. Thanks.
Aug 4 (NYT): Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida said that claims about the 2020 election being stolen were false, directly contradicting a central argument of former President Donald J. Trump and his supporters.
The comments went further than Mr. DeSantis typically goes when asked about Mr. Trump’s defeat. The governor has often tried to hedge, refusing to acknowledge that the election was fairly conducted. In his response on Friday, Mr. DeSantis did not mention Mr. Trump by name — saying merely that such theories were “unsubstantiated.” But the implication was clear.
“All those theories that were put out did not prove to be true,” Mr. DeSantis said in response to a reporter’s question after a campaign event at a brewery in Northeast Iowa.
You are correct and justified in taking it with a grain of salt. But my gut tells me there is enough context here to get the correct drift from it.
question:
Who do you believe actually won the 2020 election?
This subject is, sadly, conducted along the same patterns as discussions (if they can be called such) about the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
They descend into animosity, emotion, and invective from all sides. I know, I have partaken of this myself. I am not proud of it, and am trying to avoid it.
But that is how it is now. People are split into camps, and rational discourse is not observed by all sides.
People say things I don’t believe deep down they really mean under normal circumstances, but...these are not normal circumstances.
“Just bends in the direction of the latest sound bites?”
Sounds like more likely he bends to the desires of the money folks supporting him — we already have more than enough of that type of politician.
I didn’t think anyone could screw up worse than Pence with the “not my concern” answer. I was wrong. So Ron is saying the rat talking point now, he just called Joseph Stolen the legitimately elected President, which is preposterous. Even the majority of the county thinks there was cheating. He didn’t just stab Trump in the back he stabbed us in the back. What a train wreck. Unforgivable.
another question:
obviously you believe desantis can beat biden. so what if biden beats desantis, and the election is declared with biden as Victor. but....there are many discrepancies, many substantiated claims of voter fraud, yet biden is declared the winner.
1. does desantis accept the conclusion and congratulate biden?
2. do you accept the results in the face of massive fraud?
3. does desantis back down from the deepstate? Or at the expense, and threat of imprisonment does he challenge the result and defend the future of America?
“I’m supporting DeSantis because he has a solid record of stalwart conservative achievements under his belt, not because I want him to be my friend and drink a beer with me.”
And nearly all of them were stolen from President Trump’s actions and positions.
Desantis is a pathetic excuse for a mini-me candidate with zero charisma or likeability with no hope of ever rising above the position he has, solely because President Trump reluctantly endorsed him in the first place after Desantis begged and pleaded for his endorsement.
Your repeated mantra of President Trump being a NYC Liberal is laughable on its face. This repeated mantra on your part betrays you as a political tool. Nothing more.
I agree. And this is the objective of the left to divide and conquer.
Isn’t that cute, he’s buying himself a President. What’s the difference from those who bought Brandon?
I’m curious, how angry would you be if Donald Trump were declared the winner in November 2024?
It is not only insulting our intelligence - that what we saw did not happen, that what many patriots investigated and discovered did not happen.
DeSantis is bought and paid for. An election steal enabler for the democrats. Another one that they want to install over us.
As I’ve said many times lately, in December of 2020, I was 100% convinced Trump had won. I still have videos and links on my Freeper page showing the video of vote totals going backwards on live CNN that I posted back then. When I heard Trump had collected $250 million to contest the election, in just that month, I was convinced he would prove it, and argued with Freepers who said he would just take that money and run.
But by the summer of 2021, I was starting to wonder where was Trump. Where was his contest of the election. Why wasn’t he even pursuing it. Evidence grows cold, quick, and why was he just letting them beat him up in these J6 hearings, instead of presenting actual evidence he was wronged. Not just evidence of weaknesses in the system, but evidence they were literally exploited.
He never has presented much. He’s left it to the My Pillow guy, who I used to love and buy lots of products from, but who never came up with much concrete either. Just lots of talk, like Trump, but Dominion, and the Georgia election workers, and others were winning THEIR cases, not losing them.
Testimony also came out that Trump’s own campaign told him they thought he legitimately lost. His top lawyers told him the same thing. He hired two firms for independent studies, they said sure, there’s some fraud, here and there, but not enough to claim it was literally stolen, beyond a doubt.
So after a while, my confidence the election was actually stolen, has gone significantly down. There’s no doubt there were irregularities, but there are irregularities every election. I’ve just never seen enough proof there were enough to literally flip the results.
I hope Trump can finally present some actual evidence to prove the naysayers wrong, this court case. He will be tested, as tweets that convince supporters don’t work in the courtroom. But I hope he can do it, to vindicate not only himself, but all of us that repeated his claims it was stolen. It probably was. But it’s one of those things you would have to just have faith in, verses having something you can show others and say “there, see that, there’s your proof it was stolen.” Right now all we seem to have, even after 2+ years, are some things that were procedurally done wrong, but procedures alone do not equal provable fraudulent votes. Those have to be counted.
It'll be the most delicious serving of crow I'll have ever eaten and everyone here will be free to pile on me, telling me what an idiot I am.
LOL. Yeah, sure.
Of the comments I’ve read thus far, I think yours are the fairest. In my opinion, based on what I’ve read, DeSantis has done much good for Florida.
I don’t see any basis for him being a Bush 3.0 or a deep stater.
But Trump does have him beat by a country mile as far as being the best for the prez job.
That’s a great hypothetical, and I can’t predict exactly how DeSantis would respond, specifically, as your choices were pretty specific.
But I don’t think he would just accept fraudulent election results, IF, he thought his claims were legitimately provable. For example, I don’t think he would call for a protest of the electoral college vote unless he had irrefutable proof of substantial fraud. Not just opportunity for fraud, or circumstantial evidence, like Trump has only been able to produce. But irrefutable proof.
And he would make the presentation of that proof, his centerpiece of a factual airing of his grievances, in the proper manner, not just whip people into a frenzy with comments like “come to the capitol, it’s going to be WILD!”
Hope that answers your question.
