So? Biden gained 15m voters over Hillary in 2020. Alrighty then. You believe Biden legitimately got 81 million voters.

Shall I add cheering for a nuclear war to your GOPe resume?
Also, I understand Bill Gates has a new mRNA upload ready to go. Good luck!

A Deep State operator backing a Deep State candidate, imagine that. The only reason he jumped ship is because DeSantis is imploding.
This has been really great for revealing the snakes.

[—> That’s the thing about popularity - it’s fleeting.
I suspect that’s what is driving his historical dominant poll numbers across the USA.
No, wait.]
He lied about winning the election to raise $250m that’s been pumping up his numbers since his loss. He spent $40m lying about DeSantis before DeSantis even declared his candidacy. That’s what’s driving Trump’s numbers - the fact that DeSantis let Trump’s incessant attacks go unanswered in the first half of 2023. DeSantis is now working on cutting Trump’s lead down. As Trump’s financing winds down - and his fundraising is cratering - he will find himself in DeSantis’s position in the spring of 23, taking hits without being able to respond in kind.
What’s not getting any attention is the fact that Truth Social is likely draining tens of millions of dollars from Trump’s personal cash flow. The cash-out financing planned for 2022 flopped because of Musk’s purchase of Twitter, which sent right-wingers back to that platform. That means even if Trump wanted to, he couldn’t self-fund his presidential run without shuttering Truth Social. And shutting down Truth wouldn’t exactly boost his poll numbers, given that part of his appeal is being a great businessman.
The election lies were a great move - they got him a $250m campaign fund, not much different from when he was president and let him sell an illusion of electoral viability to GOP voters, inflating his approval numbers. The problem is he squandered huge chunks of it on self-dealing, as he did in the run-up to 2020, and the well is running dry. The number of hospice patients willing to sign their assets or SS checks over to the Trump campaign is finite, and he treated this resource as if it were bottomless.

If you define legit as having voted in person on election day, obviously not. But that’s the thing - Trump signed the CARES act that signed his own political death warrant in 2020, giving huge amounts of cash to fund vote-by-mail and early voting in the states. And lo - as expected, Democrats too lazy to get in line to vote on election day were fine with sending in their votes or dashing to some voting location during lunch weeks before election day.
2020 was when the GOP discovered that all of the tricks they used to prevent Democrats from voting were for good reason. Heck, they saw it in Oregon first where, after vote-by-mail, the state went from a GOP dead heat in 2000 to an 11% loss for Trump in 2016.

If you believe that you are either willingly blind, or blind.

He lied about winning the election to raise $250m that’s been pumping up his numbers since his loss. Rasmussen says 62% of voters think that cheating affected the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
Only 23% say that cheating did not at all affect the election.
So you, the media and a small minority of 23% of the voters think that it's all a Trump big lie.
The rest of us, the majority, have seen the evidence.

Nobody’s gonna start a nuclear war against a nuclear-armed adversary. Russia won’t do it because an unpopulated Russia would be a very different place. And the US won’t do it, because a US that quails at Abu Ghraib certainly won’t nuke Moscow in a first strike. But you can bet that pols on both sides will make nuclear threats. Trump was basically mirroring Putin’s threats. Each knows the other won’t launch a first strike, but it’s useful to keep the other side on its toes and might even garner the occasional useful concession based on pressure from the nervous nellies on the other side.

DeSantis doesn't want that. DeSantis likes extended voting, and propriety voting machines that keep their software a secret to the public.
That's Ron DeSantis.

These polls don’t mean anything. You have Democrat and Republican supporters each thinking they should have won more seats. You are part of the Republican segment thinking the GOP results should have been better. There are people who are part of the Democrat segment who think Democrats should have done better, that voter suppression kept their numbers down.
You know how Congress’s number is usually in the teens or twenties? Same idea. Some think it’s too right-wing and some think it’s too left-wing.

DeSantis could *try* to do it, but it would look bad and probably invite Federal constitutional challenges. What you’re failing to realize is DeSantis is not a chess player and FL legislators are not pieces he can move at will on a chessboard. And many of those legislators are not only not his robot minions, they are sitting in vulnerable districts that can’t afford to alienate electorates that would look askance at this effort to limit their ability to vote. The great thing about DeSantis isn’t just his solidly conservative record, in contrast to Trump’s. It’s also his ability to win in spite of all the new election laws that make it easy for Democrats to vote.

“Yep, Rollins turned out to be Deep State and so has DeSantis.”
That is an interesting comment.
Rollins, you say, “turned out” to be a deep state operator so he supported DeSantis who, you say, is deep state.
Deep state Rollins also supported President Trump. So, using your reasoning, what does that make Trump?

I understand why Trump would want to impute a single cause to an event that had multiple causes. His future in politics depends on it. For you to do so marks you as a little too in the tank for the guy.

Okay.
Ignore Rasmussen, a pollster with a great track record, ignore all the evidence that was presented in numerous state legislatures in Nov. and Dec. of 2020 (and then after that), ignore 2/3rds of the voters, and instead listen to the J6 committee, Big Media and 23% of the population, who mindlessly repeat over-and-over again, that Trump's claim of cheating is "The Big Lie".
And the senile, stupid, corrupt communist got 81 million votes and won.
To: jeffersondem
DeSantis also backed Trump. A snake disguised as a bird is still a snake. I’m just grateful these snakes are being exposed for what they are. I might have voted for DeSantis in 2028 never knowing what a sleaze he actually is.
