Pence is certainly not running to win the GOP nomination for President. He is alienating most true conservatives and he has no genuine base of voters. So, why is he running? He could fade away, work for a “think-tank”, write books for a lot of money, and be considered a former VP and “principled statesman”. Instead, he is running for President on a campaign with so little support that it will not even qualify him for the first debate (from what I’ve read recently).
Someone is dangling something in front of him to have him run for President and constantly criticize both his former boss and his supporters. What happened to the guy who spoke such conservatives phrases, advocated for conservatives principles, and promoted Trump’s policies. I’m reminded of Judas and his thirty pieces of silver.
To be in the best so he has a platform and supposed credibility to attack Trump. I have always thought, more so now, that Pence was working with Comey and others yo get rid of Yrump. Pence was a mole in the WH.
Don’t want to sound like a Pollyanna, but maybe all of these candidates are making all the allegations against Trump so that when the Dems spew their vomit at Trump it will be a “been there, done that” vibe. The constant clearly political induced indictments vs Trump only makes him more popular in the public eye except for the “dems and woke haters”. So come election time the gauntlet Trump has to go through is done.

Personally, there is too much of a celebrity contest approach in our elections and not enough substance. We be a mess of a country.
Why is he running?
Because it’s easy to wash the money.
