Excuse me, but what does this have to do with Fauci?

I can’t believe the hostility directed at this man just because he happens to be the expert that Trump selected to spearhead the pandemic response. I suppose directing hostility at him did accomplish one thing: it undermined Trump’s efforts to stop the pandemic and helped Biden win the election.

You’re right - this particular lab has nothing to do w/Fauci.

However, Fauci is more than deserving of the ridicule from myself here, and others elsewhere. As far as I’m concerned he deserves to be tarred, feathered, and driven out of town on a rail.

Two reasons for my despisement:

1) He controlled the funding of biological research that served as the precursor to all of this with China. I understand the need for the type of research performed, but to share technological development with an adversarial country is treason in my book.

2) We had data within two months of outbreak showing that, even though there were more fatalities, that covid was like the flu in that the high risk was against the elderly and infirm. We also knew it was highly contagious and, thanks to being uncontained, was in global circulation.

Sorry, there’s nothing you can do to stop that other than forcing every person and animal on the planet into total isolation for two weeks (better have food stored up). As this is impossible, it was a given that it would spread like wildfire no matter what you tried in vain for the sake of the appearance of “doing something”.

To give even a cursory nod to the covid restrictions imposed is absurd and Fauci knew better. The proper response, which he also should have known, is the path Florida took - you focus on protecting the elderly and infirm. For the rest - herd immunity does indeed work and Fauci dismissed it in favor of the vax.

His thinking there was like many in the technical world I have seen throughout my life - probability of dying from covid = x, probability of dying from vax = <x, ergo make everyone take the vax without regard to their own particular circumstance and we’ll be “better off”.

But like a single issue voter, Fauci’s opinion was absolute and had no regard for other factors. The Fauci mentality would be like saying, well diabetes is bad and some people over do to sweets, so let’s ban those sweets.

Fauci proved himself early on to be one of these types of doctors and a type I have always despised because he and his ilk have created the nanny state and provide justification for those who want to rule, not govern.

Every freedom loving person should despise the likes of Fauci.
