In a recent appearance on Stay Free with Russel Brand, Florida Gov. and GOP presidential primary candidate Ron DeSantis made a statement that will undoubtedly prove controversial to many, confidently claiming that he gets “attacked by the corporate press” more than any other person, including former President Donald Trump.
DeSantis’ remarks came after show host Russell Brand asked how he is managing to deal with “the tension of being a representative of establishment forces while acknowledging that many people no longer trust the media” in addition to government and American institutions.
“Well, one I would, I would push back on this idea that I'm representing establishment forces,” DeSantis began. “I get attacked by the corporate press, more than anybody running for office more than Joe Biden and now more than Donald Trump, because I think the corporate press views me as a bigger threat.”
The Florida governor then claimed that the corporate press understands that he will “beat Biden” whereas they think Trump would lose and that even if he did, the press believes he would be “distracted” and consequently unable to deliver.
Some have raised doubts about DeSantis’ assertions of being the corporate press’ number one target, including conservative commentator Sebastian Gorka, who sarcastically asked, “Can someone send me the links to when [DeSantis’] home was raided by the FBI and his campaign illegally surveilled?”
Numerous smaller accounts weighed in as well, echoing similar sentiments:
Guess he’s never heard of Donald Trump.
Ron, whining is not a good look for you.
(rolls eyes)
Poor Ronnie is such a victim with multiple ginned up indictments and 24/7 hatred from the media.
Wait...that’s Trump.
No one actually cares enough about Ronnie to bother oppressing him.
The media has not even begun to go after him yet.
The corporate press??? LOL, doesn’t he know they are not press, they are Leftist activists.
True....but RD has a point. He has a 2-front war on his hands. The msmwhores are after him because they fear him more than Trump....they want DJT as the nominee. And the DJT sycophants are after him because they want DJT as the nominee.
DeSantis is his own worst enemy. He’s sabotaging his own campaign.
Another article said Scott is rising because of DeSantis falling. Scott as VP would be his best(only) bet. Then wait for the Clarence Thomas treatment. He could show the class Jackie Robinson did breaking the color barrier. The only way that would happen is if the democrats nominated Michelle. It would be interesting to see if black men would vote for her as POTUS or Scott as VP. She’d get the most but Scott would ‘peel off’ more than a few. Michelle Obama represents a lot of what black men don’t like about black women.
He’s also getting personally attacked by Trump, who wouldn’t dare to do the same to Tim Scott or Vivek Ramaswamy — because of their non-white extraction.
Wow. I guess not. I initially was neutral-to-like of DeSantis early on (independent of the 2024 Presidential election process) but with each passing day, I like him less.
I find DeSantis to my eye pretty wooden, which would be fine, since I liked Calvin Coolidge, but...Coolidge was far less of a stick-your-finger-in-the-air-and-decide type of politician.
I see some of that from DeSantis, and I don’t like it at all.
That’s probably the reason many of us liked Trump-there was very little Clintonesque/Obamaesque triangulating going on.
He should be honored
He didnt have to do that. That was done for him by the scum he is funded by.
They will steal the vote off from Trump in the general and we will never see a conservative POTUS ever again.
when he has the AG, numerous State AG’s, and the FBI, CIA, and the media after him, then he can complain.
Maybe he believes Trump isn't running for office, or won't be running for office.
He should have waited his turn; now, he’s damaged goods.
The guy is a walking/talking delusion.
