The pilot is watching the marshaller, expecting the hand signal to turn left, and not watching where he is going.
In every pilot training class, someone will finish last.
My guess is the pilot of that Mi-26 finished last in his pilot training class.
A buddy and I did something similar with a Volkswagon Bug, he didn’t make the corner and hit a telephone pole, we hit the windshield and the telephone pole landed on top of us, and we couldn’t get the car away because the VW bug was stuck on top of the bottom portion of the broken telephone pole with all four wheels off the ground.
Neither one of us were helicopter pilots.
