That’s 118.4 degrees in American.

Never going to happen; did not happen.

I lived 2 years in the Apulia province in Italy (San Vito dei Normani Air Station). It can get near 100-105 on some Summer days, which is NORMAL.

118 degrees CAN happen, if you measure the surface temperature of asphalt.

They were dinged for changing how they measured temperatures, “surface temperature” vs the prior standard of “2 meters above surface”.

Much of the presently-reported “warming” is due to urban expansion that puts monitoring stations that used to be over grass, now over concrete. WattsUpWithThat documented that decades ago. The response of the government was to make private the locations of monitoring stations.
