“Employee Leasing” doesn’t sound possible under current tax law: I would guess they were pretending to operate as a consulting business to customers but treating employees as contractors, i.e., stiffing the employees by not paying the employer’s share of taxes. I think quite a few companies have been whacked for that recently.
