I think there’d be support had the south won. But it’s the only war that highlight how great losing is. I’m from Pennsylvania and always thought that odd. I mean even the southern people say, “the South will rise again.” Someday.
Yes, that is a common belief. In fact, I still believe that a people have the inalienable right to self-determination. This is what Jefferson wrote in the Declaration, and I believe it is still true today.
The only difference between the two wars is the victor, and the victor gets to write the history books. Hence, “might makes right”.
