Ignoring the fact that there are two sides (US/EU and Russia) to this issue and trying to FORCE ones own interests in complete disregard of others that will be impacted (one side) is exactly what brought us to where we are today.
Your thinking caused a war and it will not help end this war. It has not helped the Ukrainians, that’s for sure, even though you may feel you support them with some little flag pin, bumper sticker or whatnot.

There is only one side that should get to decide who rules Ukraine, that is the Ukrainians. Yes, both the US/EU and Russia were trying to influence Ukrainian politics but Russia does not get to invade because they lost this political battle. Russia needs to accept that Ukraine is no longer a province of Russia. Additionally, surrendering Ukraine to Russian domination will not bring peace. It will only bring about an insurgent movement against the Russians. See Algeria, Vietnam, Afghanistan (against both the Russians and the US), etc. Even if they win on the battlefield, the Russians cannot win this conflict. Continuing this war is no more beneficial to the Russians than it is to the Ukrainians. The Russians, too, would be better of if they just went home and accept that they can no longer control what goes on in Ukraine.
Russia lost that many choppers when Wagner started their brief rebellion. LOL.

1. The areas Russia seized are ethnic Russian. They vote for the pro-russian candidate in the Ukrainian elections, they speak Russian as their mother tongue, they once were part of Russia, Ukraine was the one that was actively “oppressing” these people who do not see themselves as Ukrainian...

2. Ukraine is no more “sovereign” when they are a cockhold nation to the US/EU than Russia. Had we actually cared about such concepts as “sovereignty and democracy” we should have embraced the Minsk agreement which would have reduced at least the military foreign presence in Ukraine, but we didn’t.
3. The gist of your argument is might makes right. Because we are stronger economically, have more military power, we are right. That’s not the case. In this conflict, Russia has legitimate security concerns, i.e. Ukraine being a NATO nation. We chose to ignore our promise of no NATO East expansion which we did make and today deny. We did leave the ballistic missile treaty which adds to the problem. We did violate Minsk. Most importantly if you look at it from a purely military planning/strategic perspective, Ukraine being in NATO is a real threat to them.
Russia and Ukraine have the same rail gauge and share major hardball roads. They share something like 1,300 miles of border. There are large maneuver corridor’s where you can shove a large mechanized force through between these two nations. Ukraine can support the long term basing of a large foreign military contingent (infrastructure, population and economy). It’s easy to hide things in Ukraine (large with forrests and cities). Ukraine is land connected to Poland, Romania, Slovakia (NATO) members and logistics is easy. Major sea and airfields allow for strategic air and sea lift, i.e. B52/2, C5, military ships. North East Ukraine is 6 minutes time of flight to Moscow for a hypersonic missile and most of Russia’s nuclear deterrent forces are in their South West, meaning we have a first strike advantage, can seriously impact their capabilities with our missile defense (banned by the ballistic missile treaty we left)...
When you realize that if you were in the Russians shoes, YOU would do the exact same thing, trying to pretend like they are just savage, aggressive, war mongering animals is insincere.
The US which nearly hurled the world into nuclear war over mere missiles being based in Cuba, where you have 90 miles of water between us; a nation which unilaterally came up and imposed the Monroe doctrine on Central and South America, today talking about Russia not having a right to defend themselves from our expansion into their sphere of influence where they see a threat, is the epitome of irony.

Yeah, they are some small groups who waved Nazi flags, but that is not proof of deliberate shelling of the civilian population by the Ukrainian army as you claimed. There are groups in the US who march around with Nazi flags, but they are not shelling anyone. On the other hand, Russia has been attacking civilian targets on a large scale for over a year. Where is your outrage. I guess, for some, flags are more dangerous than bombs.
