This week a submersible carrying passengers to the site of the wreck of the Titanic disappeared in the North Atlantic; all five aboard perished in a catastrophic implosion. Correspondent David Pogue, who rode in the same underwater vehicle last year, reports on this latest disaster, and looks back on his interviews with OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush and deep-sea explorer P.H. Nargeolet, who were among those killed.

LOL ... you win today’s Internet quip
Seriously!
A difficult video to watch in light of recent events. People can spout off and sound convincing but the value, quality, or truth of something must be judged based on direct experience with it—or on its results. The proof of the pudding is in it’s eating.
I prefer when hubris causes only personal destruction rather than taking 4 gullible and irresponsible people along for the last ride.

Very helpful. Looking at all the attachments, fittings, and gear.
What are your thoughts are the CBS video, “look inside”?
Still do not know the whole structure. Such as, how the Carbon Fibre Composite pressure hull assembly (cylinder plus titanium end “bell” caps) is attached to the support structure. Fore-and-aft spanning pieces, other than the skids, are not shown. Need photos without the WHITE covers.
The Daily Mail article with photos of recovered parts, says more than what is reported:
Torn titanium pieces attached to both of the titanium rings. One of the titanium rings is in much worse shape than the other ring - and that could indicate that failure occured at the “worse-for-wear” ring’s epoxy joint with its end of the Carbon Fibre Composite pressure hull cylinder.
The titanium end “bell” cap “hatch” - the neck appears to be collapsed, concave, instead of its pre-dive normal convex shape.
First, from the "bell" base where its flange meets the flange of the titanium ring at the front end of the pressure hull cylinder . . .
Thence to the neck shaped area; thence to the incorporated flat flange-ring that is the mounting surface to which the clear acrylic viewing portal is installed . . .
From that flat flange-ring mounting surface for the acrylic part, there may be a convex shape, inward - instead of "an optical illusion":

The inward portion, may be what is showing in the recovered "bell" cap "hatch:"
A close study reveals to me an inward turned deepish edge flanking the acrylic portal. Light shines from without into and onto the upper left hand inward turned edge, thence illuminates prominent areas of the face. Additionally, there is a semi-circular glow within the darkness of the acrylic portal at its bottom.
You can see that there is a convex bowl shape of the titanium that proceeds inward from the location of the acrylic viewing port.
