My recollection is that there are many statements by the Mufti incdicating his objective as Arab independence to deal with the Jewish question in Arab lands in their own way, as the Germans did in Germany. I’ve read some suggestions the Mufti was at Wansee, no idea if that’s true. No guest lists so I’ll have to wait for AI to tell me. But ghettos would have been a temporary solultion.
Even if he was at Wansee, it was in 1942. One of the pre-Wansee “solutions” was shipping all the ghettoized Jews to Madagascar.
