A Civiqs poll found that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' poll numbers have dropped to an all-time low among likely voters. In December he was registering at 46 percent favorability, but as of June, he is now hovering at 34 percent.
Among likely voters from the poll, in December there was a one-point difference between favorable and unfavorable responses, but that gap has grown to 22 in June.
The survey was taken by over 43,000 likely voters in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Broken down by party, Democrats viewed him with a favorability rating of 3 percent, independents at 33 percent, and Republicans at 73 percent favorability.
Of the other candidates in the pack of several Republican primary nominees, former President Trump is the leader with many others, including DeSantis, running behind the former president as the likely nominee. According to 538, the latest polls calculated give Trump a favorability rating of 55.8 percent and an unfavourability rating of 39.9 percent.
The drop in DeSantis’ favorability comes shortly after his announced run, entering the race in May.
Despite the recent polls, DeSantis has said that he will “beat Biden handily in the swing states” compared to what Trump will be able to do in a general election.
After an NBC poll pointed out his drop in polls just a few days ago, DeSantis told NBC that, “at the end of the day, you know, this is a marathon, not a sprint.” He later said that the team is “doing everything we need to do in these early states” and has confidence going into the primary.
Earlier today, Trump posted an article on his Truth Social account that shows his favorability ratings have increased since his indictment, according to polls. The writeup claimed the increase in ratings is a “cry for justice” from the American people in response to the ongoing investigation.
Trump and DeSantis aside, candidates in the race for the Republican nomination are not even receiving 10 percent support, according to current poll averages from FiveThirtyEight.
Oh, NOES! A poll! I guess I have to read this to know what to think then.
56% are Paul Ryan butt boys? Really?
The only way DeSantis could possibly win the Presidency in 2024 is if Trump is assassinated in the mean time. And I sure as hell wouldn’t vote for him then either.
My question in return is how many votes do you think Biden got in the 2020?
It has to be Ann educated guess because no one will say the numbers as they have in every other presidential election ever especially hilarys
SoConPubbie,
Keep up the good work.
You’re a Free Republic treasure.
Dittos!!
56% does not seem politically fatal for DeSantis, who just started to campaign a month ago.
100% of Deplorable Despising, Bulwark Fawning, McRomBush NeverTrumpers view Florida Man as Favorable.
So he’s got that goin’ for him.
And like others who oppose Trump, your comment was completely fabricated.
Less than Trump, by a long shot. But 80:20 might be a stretch.
Gee you think I didn’t know that the point was DeSantis for being a terrible politician as many here on FR claim has won multiple elections and to this point has never lost an election
Florida’s Demographics more closely resembles the nation’s demographics as any state in the union, the mix of Latinos and democrats moving to the state totally negate your argument
America is f-d if the best conservative governing figure is under water. There is no recovering if this is true and holds.
Here on FR it’s dominated by Trump or no crowd where Trump can never be questioned and where loyalty is demanded, kind of like a cult actually
See now this is why people cannot discuss. It’s snide remarks and refusals to discuss
I can walk through a sept store and guesstimate the price of things, can imagine what time it is, how many people to expect at my party after sending invites. So can most people. But discussing anything to do with Trump people claim pure ignorance then go on the offensive
You’re wasting my time. Moon hawk. I’ll remember you
How many votes did Biden get is the easy question answer that or drop this discussion you started
Agreed. The most embarrassing period at FR since its start. The single best champion for our ideas we have ever had and he is treated like the opposition.
If in fact DeSantis’s favorability ratings have declined, it is a direct result of Trump dumping $100m in sleazy attack ads against him on Fox News and elsewhere over the past six months. There is still plenty of time for DeSantis to introduce himself to key early state voters. Keep in mind, when the Republican primary season begins in earnest next Spring, Trump will be in a New York court room explaining why he paid big bucks to a porn actress and to a Playboy playmate.
The DeGlobalist crowd thinks he is “immune” to massive mail out ballot vote fraud
in Swing States.
I wasn’t trying to be snide, it was an honest question. and I honestly don’t know how many votes Biden got.
I know how many they say he got, and how many they say Trump got, but I don’t happen to believe the numbers. I don’t know where you’re coming from or why you’re being argumentative. And you haven’t answered my question.
But I’ll leave you be if you wish.
