Every time I think Yevgeny Prigozhin has probably reached the end of his leash, he just goes ahead and says something even more surprising. I really thought he’d reached the limit when he refused to allow his mercenaries to sign an agreement with the army even though Putin (seemingly) ordered him to do it. As far as I know, that hasn’t been resolved yet. Wagner forces still haven’t signed an agreement.
But this latest public statement goes way beyond that. Now he is undermining Russia’s entire justification for the war in Ukraine, claiming the whole thing was a lie concocted by Defense Minister Shoigu for his own selfish reasons.

I don’t think that was part of his statement earlier today, at least I didn’t see anyone else reporting it. I have lots of questions starting with: Did this really happen? Prigozhin has been trying to push Defense Minister Shoigu’s buttons for months. Maybe Shoigu snapped?
Anyway, this doesn’t sound like the kind of thing that is some kind of 11-dimensional chess by Putin. This sounds like one party of his army trying to kill another part of his army. We’ll have to wait and see what comes next.
I have no idea what they are saying in this video but notice the quote allegedly from Prigozhin: “A huge number of our comrades died, we will decide how to respond to this atrocity.” Is he talking about striking back against the Russian army?

Has there been further word either proving or disproving that Prighosin and his Wagners and Kadyrov and his Chechins have been actually fighting rather than throwing words at each other? Last night I read a detailed piece about how Prighosin was coming up in the popularity polls in Russia. He was listed as 5th most popular figure by several measures. He ranked above Shoigu and Medvedev. It was explained he knows how to exploit the internet media of the facebook tictoc type, whereas Putin does not. I have said before that Putin’s unwillingness/disintrest in learning to email and use other internet features will be the end of him. i wish I could remember and post the link on this but I can’t.
It was also said Prighosin was not directly confronting Putin but blaming others for Russian failures, especially Shoigu. He might be angling for the chief of the Russian military position. To rise from being a prison inmate to leading thousands of men and attracting the head of Russia indicates he actually has some skill and intelligence. Time will tell what he is able to do with it, and whether he could actually try to make it a good thing, both for Russia and the world??? Can a person who makes good food be all bad???

As I said in my comment #22, Prigozhin likes to make use of the popular parts of the internet. If the link you posted which is from twitter has the quote from Prigozhin, then that is a perfect example of why his popular rating is rising. This next week should be VERY interesting. I hope to see how reports I have also seen of Kadyrov being in trouble with regard to feelings in Chechnia actually develop. Are we. or will we, end up living the curse of being born in “Interesting Times”?
Do some research. I just did. It appears this is very true... in fact this article is tame compared to what is going on with Wagner and russia.
This all looks staged. Probably a Putin trap to induce a big internal anti-terror operation.

Yes, I did the research of reading the statements of Putin and the rest of the Russian leadership for the two years leading up to this CF. They were consistent and crystal clear about their motivation for their promised moves into Ukraine. You did your “research” snout down over at your media masters’ feeding trough. You don’t look foolish, just disgusting.

Here it is reported Prig’s men were greated with hugs and chears by Russian border guards as they moved across the border, presumably headed to Rostov. How this will all turn out no doubt depends on how well Prig has read the public mood, and to what degree the Russian govt. can mobilize the commmon man/and soldier against Prig’s planned moves.
So you still say the Russian army didn’t kill Wagner forces? And that Wagner is marching toward Moscow?
