California-based GOP donors are refusing to put their names on Ron DeSantis’s “roundtable breakfast” fundraiser in the state, according to a report from the local, right-leaning California Globe.
The event – due to be held on Monday morning at Del Paso Country Club, Sacramento – has failed to gather more than one name as a sponsor of the event, with one source telling the Globe: “They asked everyone to put their name to this and no one would. Of all the local GOP fundraisers, all refused to put their name to it or host it at their homes.”
Instead, the event’s attendees – who must pay up to $3300 for a ticket – will only be met by Steve Eggert, founder of the real estate development company Anton DevCo and long-term GOP donor. Eggert’s largest contributions have been to Kevin McCarthy’s “Protect The House” PACs, as well as John McCain, Mitt Romney, and the Republican National Committee.
Typically, the Globe correctly explains, events like these have “host committees” of upwards of a dozen donors, and are held at private residences, not venues. The news follows a steady decline in support for the Governor of Florida, who hit a new low of just 14 percent support amongst Republican voters this week.
So far, no one’s answered my question as to what he was expected to do with the campaign funds since he can’t run for governor again. Happily, he has yet to ask me for a donation.
On the other hand, Trump has asked for money up to 9 times in one day. That beats his usual 3-6 daily emails.
Said the same. DeSantis is getting high on all the RINOs pushing and supporting him.
Taking on the Don is not politically smart. He will regret the decision.
Proves to me he wasn’t too sure he wasn’t getting into something that was going to leave him jobless.
He probably was promised that by the GOPe. The GOPe knows their other stooges in the race were well known GOPe hacks so they needed Ron to be the new flavor.
It’s a shame he’s likely harmed his brand very badly long term.
Echoes of ¡Jeb!
It was pointed out, this was the crowd that gathered around the stage when desantis took the stage.
Trump's rally at the Minden airport was brought up. reno89519 then said he went to that rally, there were only 2000-2500 people there, and it was comparable to how many were at the basque fry to hear desantis.
This was the Minden rally, which reno89519 claims he went to with only 2000 people
People, don't believe a lot of the desantis supporters here, without them posting proof.
If he looks this forlorn after only a month of campaigning, imagine what he would look like after 8 years of relentless lawfare, impeachments, etc. There’s no way he could hold up to what Trump has had to endure for 8 years.
Our best chance of a fair election would be Trump vs RFK Jr. Whatever disagreements I might have with RFK Jr., he’s an outsider. The deepstate would be in a quandary. They wouldn’t know who to cheat for. Either choice would be a loss for them.
It's now up to 1,429 likes....
That's a lot of people endorsing desantis for president, there.....
Maybe they're keeping their powder dry until after California, but the Brownshirts still gave the LAAP-Dog media the headlines they were looking for.

How about donate the money to FL STATE conservative candidates?
That would be the considerate thing to do.
As for Pres Trump....you can’t fault the leader of the pack. He’s obviously doing something right, and, that he knows more about than you and I.
Have a good evening, skr.
Whatever, nothing is going to satisfy your idiocy, so I won’t even bother.
Yup, with that one discussion, Reno89519 proved himself / herself to be a liar!
Look, take your BS and STFU. You don’t know me, your BS is totally inappropriate and uncalled for. I do not lie, and I have not lied, and I absolutely take offense to any comment by you that suggest otherwise. I don’t know what the hell your problem is, but you need to get over it, and get over soon.
So the comments from reno89519 start at post #59 of the thread here
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/4161616/posts?page=59#59
Jane Long and I had already posted some video clips, which do not show people in desantis tshirts, or hats, or waving any desantis signs, so that shoots the claim down that there were lots of desantis people there wearing desantis gear there (see earlier post in that thread).
Post 61 is where reno claims
“The location at Minden, I went to that one, and there was probably 2000 to 2500 people at it, it had a larger area. Overall very comparable.” intending to gaslight and fool people into believing there was comparable interest in seein desantis based on crowd size.
Finally, the picture of the Minden airport rally is down at post #83, which only shows part of the crowd, which was probably between 8-10 thousand (from having worked festivals)

So yes, reno89519 did lie. From just the behind the stage photo, it is obvious there are several times more people at the Trump rally, than those who were even at the basque fry event.
desantis piggybacked on to an existing event, hoping to push the narrative people were going to the event to see him. There is no real interest in desantis, and there is no way renal89519 can say the crowd sizes were comparable.

“Having the law changed to remain Governor was cheesy. Shows a lack of seriousness regarding a Prez campaign.”
I was wondering how he got around that.
If he thought he could win the primary and then the general he would have resigned from Guv job.
No confidence.
Knows he can’t win so keeps his old job.
He can’t be trusted.
So there will be one person there?
Does DS have a strategist?
Seems not.
“Started with flipping to join the Neocons regarding Ukraine, and then bashing Trump regarding his first indictment,”
Well put. I was in the camp of PDJT in 2024, then an easy segue to
DeSantis in 2028. When he flipped on the Ukraine issue within 24 hours it was clear (to me) that he is being handled by anti-America-First puppeteers. Who needs that in the White House?
