Whoa! No kidding? I was a contractor support engineer for them in 97.
I was contracting through a defunct company called Alternative Resources Corp in November '97 through January '98. They paid the support guys with gaming licenses diddly, and they rightfully resented us. The operation had way too many chiefs, and not enough Indians. They couldn't even get an ISDN line working. They also had FOUR different IT systems in a sizeable, but not huge operation. I think they had an AS/400, some homebrew Borland thing, Windows and DEC.
The head of my group was a short Navy guy, and I was told my contract was coming to an end because they were pushing thin clients, with everything locked down. I raised my hand and asked if mouse tracking speed could be kept unlocked, as it is frustrating to work with one at a slow speed. With one exception, I never got along with Navy guys in IT.
After my contract ended, I handed in my badge, bet $5 on Keno, won $10, and left. I beat the House, and I am never going back.

I have a feeling that at some point you and I may have crossed paths.
But I love working the navy guys.
