Not going to change “how” people heat their homes so much as “if” people heat their homes. If you live in the north, you know that a heat pump isn’t ideal in very cold weather, though it’s reasonable to use here in the south.
The gas company in Ohio, where I used to live, used to advertise that “gas heat is warm heat” and they were right.
People won’t be able to afford to heat their homes without gas, you watch. Then, the great government “savior” that caused the problem will present a solution. That solution will come at the expense of others, as all government solutions do.
Also, now that I’ve read more than the headline, an 80% furnace is a LOT cheaper to buy than a 95%+ furnace. It’s also a lot less complicated, meaning a lot less to go wrong. I’ll stick with my 80%. If someone doesn’t like it, they can pry it from my cold dead garage.
True that. And it wasn't too long ago that the government was pushing gas as the solution, not the problem. Remember when they were pushing people to switch more of their heating to "clean burning" natural gas? Remember the Obama years when the EPA was forcing power companies to shut down coal plants and replace them with "clean burning" natural gas fueled plants?
Now those same Dims are demanding we're evil for following their prior mandates to switch to gas.
They will just use open flame to heat their home resulting in more fires and CO deaths. The Rats will chock that up as a win.
The government will subsidize those unfortunate people who now can't pay to heat their homes. The subsidies will be taken from others, by force if necessary. This will create more dependence on the government while simultaneously redistributing wealth, so from the government's point of view it's perfect.
