A friend of mine was interested in the problems of black folk, so he joined the local NAACP. He was surprised by how late many folks showed up to the meetings. He discovered that they have a term for it, BST, Black Standard Time.

Reminds me of when I was coaching a college speech team back in the 90s. When I told the team that the van was leaving at 3 p.m. for a trip, the black students would always show up around 3:30. The exact words they used for their excuse: “We operate on black people’s time.” Well, the third time they weren’t on time for departure, I left without them. After that, they all showed up on time! I’d probably face a racial discrimination claim if I did that today.

I hate to agree with you, but I do. From personal experience, this is true. Some people are obsessed, either with skin color, the sex they were born with, the sex they weren’t born with, or many other “identities”.

White people need to start checking the "Native American" box. Many already are and I don't blame them.

Eventually businesses will look to simply avoid hiring certain minorities, while rolling out the red carpet for others. A lot of dark-skinned Asians from India or Pakistan have wised up to this ruse and check the "black" box. And seeing how many of them are as black as the last banana, who's to tell them they can't?
