We voted for Trump twice, during the time he feigned cultural conservatism to capture the evangelical vote, but now that he has lurched to the left, my family and I are chomping at the bit to vote for the greatest conservative governor in America.
The way some so brazenly re-write history is astonishing. Trump never claimed to be a cultural conservative. We he did do was support certain policy positions that appealed to cultural conservatives, and he pretty much kept his word.
He promised he would appoint conservative judges and he did. That paved the way for the biggest victory in years for cultural conservatives - the reversal of Roe v Wade.
He signed an executive order directing the executive branch to limit its enforcement of the “Johnson Amendment”, which penalizes religious organization for speaking about moral or political issues from a religious perspective.
He banned trans from the military. He’s also been a vocal critic of men in women’s sports.
Trump gave cultural conservatives more victories than any President has in over 50 years. If they choose to abandon him because he’s taken some imaginary lurch left, or because appearances matter more to them than results, then they are foolish.
