There have been entire books explaining the JFK policy on Vietnam.
At first he supported intervention—then just before his assassination he changed his mind.
This is very well documented in a stream of executive orders.
The left has done everything it can to always make JFK be on what came to be seen as the correct view, including trying to turn Vietnam from JFK’s desire, into making him the hero who would have ended his own Vietnam war during the next 11 months while campaigning for president at the same time.
“His brother said in a 1964 oral history that John F. Kennedy never thought about pulling out of Vietnam”

JFK initiated the coup d’etat that resulted in the assassination of South Vietnam’s President Diem.
JFK had been ramping up US involvement in that war and he felt that Diem was getting in the way. Kennedy made a major commitment to unconventional warfare entirely for the fight in Vietnam. The conspiracy belief that he was getting out is the usual nonsense.
Everyone knows that JFK was one of our greatest WWII heroes with all the movies, TV shows and books about his heroism.
JFK never was awarded a medal for combat heroics, but his Deep State dad did keep him from being court-martialed for incompetence that lost his boat and killed his 2 crewmen.
This is how the media works, everyone knows that one WWII veteran ran in the 1960 election out of the two presidential, and two vice-presidential candidates, how come no one knows the military records of the other 3 men, or even knows that they served?
