On July 25, 2020, Sgt. Daniel Perry unexpectedly turned into a Black Lives Matter protest a little before 10 p.m. on Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas. His right of way was blocked by protestors who surrounded the vehicle, beat on, and kicked it.
Garret Foster, one of the protestors, openly armed with an AK47-style semi-automatic rifle, approached Perry’s driver’s side window and motioned for him to roll down the window.
After Sgt Perry rolled down the window, He says Foster raised the rifle towards him, and he fired in self-defense. Another protestor fired at Perry’s vehicle as protestors scattered, and he drove out of the danger zone. Perry immediately called 911 and told police what had happened. The initial investigation by Austin police found the case was one of self-defense. Foster appears to have been masked when he approaches the car. No one was arrested or prosecuted. Sgt Perry fully cooperated with the police.
On November 3, 3030, Soros-Funded José Garza was elected the Travis County District Attorney. Austin is in Travis County.
In 2021, Garza convened a grand jury and obtained controversial indictments against Perry, in which a Police Detective, David Fugitt complained of Garza’s bias against Perry.

So by their standards, carrying a weapon for self defense amounts to premeditated murder? How about the dude with the AK? Why did the judge not throw out the biased verdict?

Scott Adams is right. It’s best to stay away from people who hate you. This means Austin, TX. Bad stuff happens in those places, even in Texas.
The majority of the techies from Californica that moved to Texas moved specifically to Austin so this is what you get. It’s been building for decades, it’s not something new.
They are implementing a backdoor way to prohibit a citizen’s right to self-defense similar what the UK implemented a couple of decades ago when they began disarming their citizens. We are going down the same path. One will never find an unbias jury in a blue city/state if you go against their narrative.
I live in San Antonio, and I make it a practice to stay the hell out of Austin if I possibly can. Even when I am traveling up north, I take the bypass road to go around that shit hole, because on top of being a bastion of Leftism, the city is in capable of designing and building roads that can handle their traffic.
As for this particular situation, I would hope that this is appealed to a higher level. It is a very clear case of self-defense. Nobody goes on a trip in their car, expecting someone to stick in AK-47 in their face, with the hope that they can shoot the guy holding the AK. The result is absurd on its face.
