The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information regarding the Russian invasion as of 6:00 p.m. on May 4, 2023.

In the evening summation, it is noted: “The Russian Federation continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not give up its plans to occupy our territory. The enemy continues to disregard the laws and customs of war, and uses terror tactics, strikes, and attacks on both military personnel and on civilian objects.

This day, at night, the Russian Federation made another massive attack on the territory of Ukraine, using Iranian attack UAVs “Shahed-136/131”, 18 out of 24 were destroyed by our defenders.

Today, the enemy launched 6 missile strikes on the cities of Kramatorsk and Zaporizhzhia, carried out 66 airstrikes, and launched 33 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are deaths and injuries among the civilian population, private residential buildings, educational institutions, and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed and damaged.

The probability of launching missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, and Mariinka directions - about 50 enemy attacks were repulsed. The fiercest battles continue for Bakhmut and Mariinka.

No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.

In the Siversk and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy carried out artillery and mortar attacks on the settlements of Yeline, Mykolaivka, Ivanivka, Buchki, Hremiach of the Chernihiv region; Uralove, Porokhon, Studenok, Shalyhine, Rivne and Boiaro-Lezhachi, Stukalyvka, Bilopillia, Oleksiivka, Yunakivka and Slavhorod of the Sumy Region, as well as Hlyboke, Vesele, Vovchanski Khutory, Karaichne, Bochkove and Budarky in the Kharkiv Region. Private houses were destroyed and damaged. There are wounded among the civilian population.

The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Kupyansk direction. The settlements of Kamianka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Lyman Pershy, Kislivka, Krokhmalne, and Berestove of the Kharkiv region were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of the southwestern outskirts of Spirne. Makiivka, Andriivka, Hrekivka, Dibrova, Bilohorivka of the Luhansk region were hit by artillery fire; Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne of the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, fighting continues in the city of Bakhmut. In addition, during the day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of the settlements of Bohdanivka and Markove. Nikiforivka, Vasiukivka, Novomarkove, Markove, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Diliivka, Zalizne, and New York of the Donetsk region were affected by enemy shelling.

The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Avdiivka direction. Fired at Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Netailove, and Karlivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Mariinka direction, the enemy is trying to improve the tactical position. Numerous enemy attacks in the Mariinka area were repulsed. At the same time, Krasnohorivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region came under enemy fire.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy shelled Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, and Shakhtarsk in the Donetsk region.

The enemy continues to conduct defensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. More than 50 settlements were shelled. Among them are Vremivka, Novosilka, and Novopil of the Donetsk region; Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilivka, and Orihiv, Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region; Dudchany, Zmiivka, Ivanivka, Dniprovske, Kizomys of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

Russian occupying forces continue to suffer heavy losses on the battlefield, all medical facilities in the temporarily occupied territory are full of wounded occupiers. As a result, the enemy continues to equip civilian educational institutions for medical institutions. For example, in the village of Myrne, Zaporizhzhia region, the occupiers are converting the sports hall of the local school into a military hospital. At the same time, the Russian invaders force the teaching staff to continue the educational process with compulsory school attendance by children.

Aviation of the Defense Forces per day made 6 strikes on areas of concentration of enemy personnel.

In addition, during this day, 4 Lancet barrage ammunitions were destroyed.
Units of missile troops and artillery hit 5 areas of concentration of manpower, 2 enemy ammunition depots and 1 of his radio-electronic warfare stations.
