As far as newscasters go, my heart will always be with NBC’s John Cameron Swzyzee, my first crush. As a young girl, I attentatively watched him deliver the nightly news on the family’s brand new black and white Dumont TV, our first TV. (We got our first automobile about the same time). Mr. Swaydee seemed kind, brilliant, a no-nonsense guy, a role model, and his was the voice of knowledge and truth for all or much of the nation about what was going on beyond our neighborhood.

I recently bought my wife a Timex watch for her birthday.
The first guy I loved on TV was William F. Buckley in the late 60’s
Started to listen to “Firing Line” cuz as an eleven year old his accent was so weird!
He taught me much and put me on the right path.
