Yes at the cost of viewership. Think of it as baskets of viewers. There is a huge basket of deplorables in that basket.

That makes no sense.

Deplorables are just a derisive term which democrats dreamed up for conservatives and republicans, and they still vote, and contribute to viewership and revenue. You take away that audience, and you lose the purpose for your existence. And, government won't make up the losses in revenue, and the lost audience will eventually find another outlet.
