The actual German derivation is interesting.

"Hein" derives from an old word for "house or householder" think "heinrich" -- but it is slang for a fool or thick-headed person.

"Scheiden" means to split or divide, usually used for "divorce."

So we can draw our own conclusions . . .

The expanded drawn out prose of German words are just too cool for me!

The man who spinkles urine on his neighbors doorstep.....kinda word. To me it's fascinating.
