Yep. Awhile back I read an article about the fall of the Roman Empire. The author listed all the usual reasons. Then he added one of his own.
The Roman Empire fell because the Romans couldn’t conceive of it falling. The Empire was all-powerful, and evidently eternal. Rome simply could not fall! So there was no need to take any corrective action.
Too many Americans have that exact same mindset today.
Towards the end, many Roman farming families simply walked away from their farms because they could no longer afford the excessive taxes levied on them by the grotesquely corrupt Roman Senate.
Exactly right. We are living off all the civilizational capital built up over 400 years in the colonies and the USA and it is being destroyed right in front of our very eyes in a few short years.
How many American adults are aware of that? Maybe 10%?
The fact that parents know what is being taught to our kids and yet the schools are still there, tells you all you need to know about the future of the Republic.
