Tom Hardy, he was great in several things that reeked of the Golden age of acting. Idris Elba is very good too.
I am sure the Bond movies were killed forever by the last double 007 movie. Bond was played weakly, he even died badly. All he had to do was escape, and avoid his woman and daughter.... or die. Bond doesn’t choose death, he would come back and defend the Queen and Country.

Actually, since there has been a clamor for a female Bond, I’ve suggested that the solution to that is to create a cousin for 007 named Jane Bond, have her work with him on the next movie, then spin her off into her own series. She can be agent 008.

They had written the role for Moore, but he was committed to The Saint, so they got Connery, who defined the part.
The same thing would happen to them later on. When they first tried to get Pierce Brosnan, he was committed to Remington Steele, so they hired Timothy Dalton.
