There didn’t need to be an autopsy. A spinal tap makes the definitive diagnosis. And was most likely done.

There could be other reasons for death even if bact. Meningitis is diagnosed....full autopsy at 11. Could have been dizzy, fell, and broke the neck ..or....

How long would it take to know (from the spinal tap) if it was meningitis?
