The difficulty of training and massing the necessary troops, as well as a serious shortage of ammunition and military equipment, will probably keep the Kiev regime from attaining the goals for their much-hyped ‘spring offensive’.
This harsh assessment, apparently based on human and signals intelligence, was released as part of the ongoing massive leak of US classified documents that has sparked investigations of the Pentagon and DOJ.
The Washington Post reports:
“Labeled ‘top secret,’ the bleak assessment from early February warns of significant ‘force generation and sustainment shortfalls,’ and the likelihood that such an operation will result in only ‘modest territorial gains.’ It’s a marked departure from the Biden administration’s public statements about the vitality of Ukraine’s military and is likely to embolden critics who feel the United States and NATO should do more to push for a negotiated settlement to the conflict.
[…] It has revealed, for instance, where American officials have detected critical weaknesses in Ukraine’s air defenses and access to ammunition while exposing considerable deficiencies within the Russian military, too. Many of the assessments date to February and March.
The document forecasting only modest success in Ukraine’s forthcoming counteroffensive indicates that Kyiv’s strategy revolves around reclaiming contested areas in the east while pushing south in a bid to sever Russia’s land bridge to Crimea.”

These documents have been sitting out in public since early March, when someone uploaded them to a video-gamers site public server. Oddly, it took a month for media/government to notice them, even though various sites like 4Chan and others were discussing them. Some Russian blogger made a ham-handed attempt to photoshop the casualty figures and spread their version, but the originals were always there.
My guess is there is someone in DoD who got fet up with the ridiculous Biden Admin and fake media lies, and decided to do something about it.
I considered this might be intentional disinformation to justify more taxpayer funding of the war....but...it really undermines the entire Warhawk meme.
They expected “modest results” in the fall also, but Ukraine retook a lot of territory. They’re not capable of properly evaluating the UA’s capability because it doesn’t function like US forces and they probably over value the RF army. After the current leaks I hope the Ukrainians have more sense than to share detailed info with the US. Unless, of course, those leaks were planned.
A Twitter screen shot of lunatic comments. Am I supposed to be impressed?
Or they were deliberately leaked with enough "red meat" to make them look convincing to the Russians.
These leaked documents appeared to be assessments of what the Americans believe is happening in Ukraine.
Russians are right there - they have much better intel of what is happening on the ground. They don't need an American report to tell them how many shells the Ukrainians fire per day. They don't either the manufactured Ukraine Government / military estimates of Ukraine casualties.
This wasn't released to "help Russia," so it would be effectively useless to deceive Russia. It was released to enlighten Americans/Westerners.
Article states......”officials have detected critical weaknesses in Ukraine’s air defenses and access to ammunition”......
Doesn’t sound like they’er prepared for what is to come.
Agreed. this was released to bust out the false narrative of Gen. Twinkle Toes and his Get Trump cadre. Slo Joe doesn’t know what Ukraine is!
And we know this whole “leak” isn’t a psyops campaign, how?🤔
