I went to the range Saturday with a .22 rifle, .22 pistol and 9mm pistol. I shot the .22’s more. Just plain fun.
My grand daddy’s country store had them at six for a quarter. Way back in the last century.
I’ve found that all ammunition is becoming more available and prices are coming down. But don’t expect to ever see sub $10/box of 50 for 9mm range ammo ever again.
I’ve seen 9mm at $15/box, and it may come down to $12 or so, but not much lower.
Damn, but that's been a loooooong time ago.

Actually bought 3 boxes of 50 9mm range ammo for $10.99 the previous weekend. Range usa arlington texas.
Yep. It's been that way for me for a while now. So much so that I've only been taking my .22 pistol lately. Much cheaper, and super fun.
And on topic, I placed a CCI order recently and noticed they finally lifted their limit of 10 on most of their ammo. It was nice to see.

The last time I bought bulk .22 LR (Federal something or other) was from Midway about ten years ago and I recall thinking how $187 and change for 5,000 round case was a little pricey (about 3.75 cents a round) as I had bought up about 12,000 rounds from a local Target store in 1998-99 that was selling off all its ammunition (“not appropriate product for this neighborhood” said the Baltimore store manager) and I got THAT for about a penny a round.
Funny, because, DICK’s was getting out of the reloading business at the time and I bought up about 20,000 primers (all sizes except 209’s I left on the shelf) for a penny each.
I watched in horror as the prices of .22 LR ran upwards of 25 cents a round during the Obama reign of economic terrorists. 9mm? .45 acp? Unobtanium, but I had ammo cans packed with handloads and factory stuff all lost in a horrible boating accident not long after.
Times being what they are (indifferent to hostile) buy what you can now. I don’t think prices will ever be coming down after industry begins gearing up for WW3 production.
OK, Googling shows that Range USA is a chain of indoor ranges, and I didn’t know that there were three in Michigan.
According to their website, the cheapest 9mm range ammo is Armscor 9mm 124gr FMJ at $12.99, which is still a great deal, but none of the Michigan stores have it in stock.
Reloading-a good job for old stay-at-home seniors. Make a little money. Give them something to do. Volunteer conservatives come by to pick up the stuff and make sure they vote.
I now just carry my Ruger SR22. Its kind of a picky eater though. I run CCI stingers or velocitors. $11.99 for 50 at Bass Pro. I’ll probably go through a box at the little range we have set up at our rural compound. I think Bass Pro has dropped their limit also.

Powder and especially primers are still hard to come by.
Those who are reloading today are the ones who stashed 20,000 primers back when ammo was cheaper than reloading.
We used to make fun of Big 5’s sale price for Remington Golden Bullet 525 bulk pack...$19.99. We’d pay less than $8 on sale at BiMart. Then came Obama....
It wasn’t that long ago .380 was two dollars a round.
When I wore a younger man’s clothes, we used to get .22 long rifle for a penny a round.
I recently found two unopened boxes of Federal ammo I bought back in the 1980s. 500 count box. Now it is 325 in a box.
Wonder if it will still shoot.
I should mention the cost back in the 1980s was less than $5 a box.
