Or maybe they do know their target audience and don't care about losing a big chunk of it, especially if they think they're betting on a future composed of millenial consumers who are OK with men pretending to be women.

Look at Hollywood in the last 20 years - woke trash movie after movie which producers know will never have any box office appeal, but will garner praise from the media and woke studio shareholders. Look at late night television - clones of each other, all left-wing rants, tiny fractions of the old Tonight Show's audience. They don't care - they get social credit from the left-wing establishment, and that is more valuable to them than pleasing viewers and customers.
