If you have a gold standard, then the money supply can only expand in line with the gold supply. That means limited money, so money does indeed retain its value better (= less inflation). However, without the ability to create money, it’s hard for an economy to expand. Imagine going to the bank for a mortgage and being told, “sorry, we haven’t discovered any new gold mines this year so we don’t have any money to lend you.”This nonsense again? Banks will not make any decisions due to gold mine operations (at least not directly), The ability of the bank to offer you a mortgage will depend on a combination of three things: New deposits, repayments of loans, and sale of banks assets (generally loans).
Profitable gold mines will only influence this in as much as they cause some bank to have new deposits that will then be used to either issue loans themselves or buy loans from other banks.

This will be the fastest way to return industry and trade to America. The world needs us though they think not. But do we really need them.

The dollar losing world reserve currency status will result in absolutely massive inflation and a dramatic crash in our standard of living. Foreign goods will become unaffordable overnight.
Long term, that will bring a lot of manufacturing back home and will put us on a healthier path but there will be massive pain for several years.
Of course it would be a whole lot less painful if we brought more manufacturing back home first...........

What makes you that confident in our economy over China’s?
Which economy is still the biggest, and which still leads in free-market capitalism? And which economy is not centrally controlled by the government? Biden and democrats won't get their way forever, no matter how much they try to destroy the country.

I think BRIC should rightfully be named CRIB, like toddlers trying to topple the grownups in the room.

The Dollar is under attack but what will replace it? The Ruble? the Yuan? Who would want a currency controlled by mad men? The Dollar is the best of the worst.

Tucker Carlson deserves credit for letting me come on and quote the Bible. He can only control what he can control.. ~Jason Whitlock.
You probably had your last appearance on Fox News
my friend. Thank you for keeping it real and quoting scripture. It needed to be said, but it comes at a price. ~Bronze Age Warrior.

I think we have less than 10 years of that title remaining.

Or each will be used to avoid the dollar trade - and it’s happening now

I think we have less than 10 years of that title remaining.
China is experiencing the same problems that the U.S. is facing, except that in China, things are much worse under government control of the economy. We can wrestle government control from Washington; we are still a free country, regardless of how much democrats want to change that.
In 10 years, China will be much poorer than now, since they have nothing to fall back on and after many countries start to pull back from investing in China and manufacturing continues to leave China.

Poorer or not, relative to the USA, China will be the largest economy.
I believe it will be less than 10 years.
And as a side note … the G7 is now smaller than the BRICS

Poorer or not, relative to the USA, China will be the largest economy.
Absolutely NOT!
China does NOT have the infrastructure to overtake the U.S., and by infrastructure, I mean the economic system. China is communist, and under total government control. Communism and socialism have NEVER been successful economic systems. It's IMPOSSIBLE for socialism to be a success, much less communism.
so, even if the U.S. becomes poorer and decreases in economic strength, it will still be a lot bigger than China. The only thing that China has that the U.S. does not, is a much larger population, but the larger the population, the poorer the country, especially under socialism.

No. Disagree. What you put forth is an assumption.
China has spent 15 years building a trade network that spans the globe, and laying the groundwork for a financial system that can circumvent ours. That is financial infrastructure.
My country has spent 15 years bankrupting itself, dropping bombs in wars the neocons did not win, and weaponizing the dollar and financial system.
When we slip to #2, it will be our own fault.
The time to make plans was 5 years ago.

Its when you rush to the bank and take out all of your money, then rush to the grocery store - only to find that your money will buy nothing in the store, since prices now start at $US1 billion for a loaf of bread and $US 10 trillion for a pound of low grade chuck hamburger.

If they cut him for quoting the Bible then they need to get rid of all the women on FOX that have written books and are constantly promoting their Christian books. Harris Faulkner always talks about prayer, Shannon Bream and Kaylie Mc also have books as do others that aren’t coming to mind right now. Jason just pointed out in clear terms how you can’t reason with the devil. He spoke the truth. I don’t get why FOX cut away like that.

No. Disagree. What you put forth is an assumption.
You can disagree all you want, but the facts don't support the idea that socialism works.
And,I don't assume anything, when the facts support what I've said. China is communist, and central control never works for create a growing economy that can be self-sustaining.
China has spent 15 years building a trade network that spans the globe,
China has built its economy on the fact that, the U.S. and other countries used it (China) as their manufacturing base. When that base goes away, China will be gone completely from the world stage as an economic power. No manufacturing for other countries, no more economic blackmail by China.
China has grown its economy through cheap labor that other countries have used to their advantage. China is blowing it with its economic blackmail, and they will be reduced to what they were before the 1970s.
China takes manufacturing from other countries, and steals economic secrets and military secrets to build what it has now. That could easily disappear in the near future, and that has already started, where the U.S. and other countries are being a lot more guarded with their technological secrets.
China lacks the incentives to make it on their own. China lacks the freedoms to let people build their own futures. China lacks the initiatives which created great technology and great economic strength. China is as the U.S. and other countries let them be. China is not an economic powerhouse or an economic leader. China is actually a dependent country; dependent upon what the U.S. and other countries give and allow them.
