Misses the point. NY is running all of America now. Remember when GM went bankrupt out somehow ended up in a New York State bankruptcy court, qeven though GM had no offices in New York?
If New York is corrupt (it is, top to bottom) and it is allowed to run everything, then America is corrupt

It has been that way since the founding of our nation. The State of New York(It’s called the Empire State for a reason.) is home to a major world financial center, which is New York City/New Amsterdam.(I mention New Amsterdam because my Dutch ancestors owned a lot of real estate in NY between 1638 & 1800)
