This will sound cold, but I am beginning to think that there is a large portion of the population that is just... maladaptive. I’m starting to look at anorexics, hoarders, and trans people all the same way: people who have no reason I can see to be so miserable and non-functional. If you have a healthy body and a decent income, if you live in safety and comfort, and no one’s torturing you... that’s a good life. How people manage to come up with a way to be miserable despite that makes me think that they are just... defective. And they seem to want attention non-stop! Like three year olds, but forever.
