When initial reports said it was a transgender, and referred to her as "she," I assumed it was a male in a dress, because they usually call male trannies "she."

But it turns out that though it's a butch female, they actually called her a "she," which is unusual.

Perhaps reporters initially assumed that if it was a tranny, it must be male-to-female, thus they called her a "she," when they would have said "he," though it really is a "she."
