“Figured the colloidal silver fanboys would come out of the woodwork”
I don’t understand how this is news, I mean this stuff’s been around for a long time. Different elements can be used to thwart the growth of bacteria, that’s why they put zinc in polysporin, that’s why brass door knobs aren’t as germy as other kinds of door knobs, that’s why you have fewer bacteria in your mouth when you have gold crowns. I would think the science is rather settled on this. But I guess not.
I thought Massive Overdose was the correct protocol for all medicines!?!
And the name of a punk rock band.
Since antiquity, the antibiotic properties of silver has been well known,
E.g. silverware were made of silver, because people noticed that eating wit silver utensil kept them healthy (well, they did not cleaned the utensils to well then).
Holly water has been exposed to silver to keep it clean. Common communion cups were made of silver,...
Silver kills anything - bacteria, fungi...
So silver has been used to apply to open wounds and skin infections if nothing else works.
The problem is that silver also kills body cells.
So body silver exposition should be limited.
But this article really make sense. For some reason, all the bacteria and fungi never developed resistance to silver. So using silver with antibiotics will make them more useful for
resistant bacteria.
I always took this guy as the poster guy for “maximum safe amount”
Does anyone remember when cereal was ‘fortified with vitamins and Iron’ and if you stuck a magnet in the milk you could collect the fragments before ingesting them?
And it doesn’t go away. It might be worth a short term trial if patient is gonna die from uncontrollable infection and using lower dose of silver. Need more info to set the limits of it’s use.
I understand the water supply for the astronauts in space had silver metal filters to keep bacterial growth out.
Thank you!
I like it!
:)
As a medical protocol or a band name? lol
