As these patients reach maturity, there will be more of this, and while we might well justifiably cheer the demise of those practitioners who performed these atrocities, behind all that will be the death of Medical Megaconglomerates and the eventual amalgamation of them all in single provider healthcare, run by the government that not only permitted the procedures on confused minors in the first place, but lauded them as somehow being other than the atrocity they are.
Rates will have to go up for genuinely lifesaving procedures , paid for by Medicaid, Medicare, or the pulsing arteries of insurance companies in the more private sector.

At 13 it would have been necessary to have her parents consent for the procedure. Where are they in this process? Likely she and her parents were coerced into this surgery, but her parents share in the blame for allowing a barely pubertal girl from being mutilated.
